After the earthquake, seismologists with Natural Resources Canada and GeoscienceBC partnered with the Oil and Gas Commission to gather and analyze all potentially relevant data. Canada set a new world record for the largest earthquake ever triggered by fracking. Fantastic. Progress Energy p adidas originals hamburg ut a hold on their hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, operations in northern British Columbia after a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck near their work site in August 2015. Recently a thorough investigation by the provinces energy commission confirmed the original suspicion. This is the new record-holder for the largest fracking-triggered earthquake. After the earthquake, seismologists with Natural Resources Canada and GeoscienceBC partnered with the Oil and Gas Commission to gather and analyze all potentially relevant data. Alan Clay, communications manager for the commision, explained to Gizmodo that the key details they were looking for were: If earthquakes hit nearby before or after hydraulic fracturing operations, or only during fracking. Where the earthquakes epicenter was located with respect to the well where fracking was taking place. If the earthquake happened before, during, or after fluid had been injected into the well. It took three months to collect and analyze data from the seismom hoka schuhe eter network and all active oil and gas operations within 10 kilometers of the epicenter. The region had been silent of earthquakes except during fracking operations, and struck after fluid had been injected thus presumably lubricated the fault . The epicenter was less than a kilometer away from the injection well, and people nearby reported that shaking was s skechers trongest n

The background texture are linear sand dunes angling diagonally across the scene. The green mat of scrub vegetation have tied the dunes into place, tying them down from migrating across the desert. salomon mujer A fire sometime earlier in the year burned sharp scars across the landscape, revealing the bright orange of bare sand. According scientists accustomed to interpreting space station photography: Fires first advanced into the view from the lower left鈥攑arallel with the major dune trend and dominant wind direction. Then the wind shifted direction by about 90 degrees so that fires advanced across the dunes in a series of frond-like tendrils. Each frond starts at some point on the earlier fire scar, and sharp tips of the fronds show where the fires burned out naturally at the end of the episode. The sharp edges along the burn scars are because of a steady light southwesterly wind. The weak wind prevented sparks from setting off additional fires.
