Kogn 12 New Studies Show How Close Insects Are to Extinction
After years of waiting for fresh content, the Stargate fandom has finally been asics able to watch MGMs new 10-episode prequel web series, Stargate Origins, in its entirety on its streaming platform. The show, clocking in at just around two hours, was definitely cute, and that it both starred and was directed by women was noteworthy and laudable. But my favorite thing about Origins, really, was the chance to return to the Stargate universe and its long and rich canon. Origins has a lot of obvious throwbacks to SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe鈥攅ven casual fans will probably recognize things like the Goauld staff weapons and hand devices, ring transports, pyramid spaceships, and Dial Home Devices DHD . But there were a few quieter references in the web series that had me Kree! ing to myself while I watched. Lets hop through the event horizon together to check them out! 1 Recycle, Reuse The Stargate franchise has always been infamous for recycl adidas campus ing actors into new roles listen, there were only so many working actors in the Vancouver area in the early 2000s, okay , and Origins carried that tradition on well. But he previously appeared for 10 episodes as the sorta-sympathetic, half-human half-evil-Wraith called Michael in Stargate Atlantis. Fans of other, arguably-inferior Star shows will also recognize Trinneer as Rzcf Revel Suspended More Than 1,000 NYC Riders in the Last Month for Being Reckless Idiots
The future of Game of Thrones has been a topic of much debate of late, with news of just how much of the show is actually left, and even talk ofa potential spinoff series, making the rounds. Series composer Ramin Djawadi and Bran Stark actor Isaac Hempstead-Wright will be in attendance for the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, teased with the appropriate moniker of music is coming : Taking place next Monday, August 8th, at 11:30 am in the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the impromptu concert promises live music, a Q 038;A with Djawadi, and even a selection of fan-favorite pieces from the popular Hall of Faces interactive exhibit, including the Iron Throne, the Melisandres Flame holographic experience, Arya Starks sword Needle, and costumes from Season 6. It seems like a bit of a random hodgepodge of Game of Thrones fan service delight, but the most intriguing tidbit comes in the fact that the concert will also apparently reveal exciting new details surrounding an extension to the Game of Thrones universe. Who knows what it could be鈥攁nything from as grand to the much-ballyhooed potential movie, to something as humdrum as a wider serie adidas originals s of similar concerts could both be possible extensions t nike af o the brand behemoth that is Game of Thrones. And hes right: quantum entanglement can in theory be used to create unbeatable encryption, as well as being put to use in quantum computing. Being able to perform it at room temperature means that complex and expensive cooling systems neednt be required. For now, though, its more likely that the effect will be put to use in slightly less

Last month, writer Geoff Manaugh published Ernest, a short story about a ghost, for Vice. Today, that story has been optioned by Hollywood and is being turned into a movie. Heat waves arent just for land lubbers. Climate change has turned the oceans into cauldrons of scalding water, upending marine ecosystems around the world. A new paper in Nature shows how marine heat waves have become more common and intense in recent decades, largely due to climate change. Whats worse, it shows that even if the world manages to limit warming to two degrees Cel adidas samba sius, the trend will continue and humans will ultimately be the main driving force for virtually every marine heat wave. If we let the world warm past that mark, the results could be catastrophic for the high seas. The role of human-caused climate change in intensifying land-based heat waves is now well-established. The post-antibiotic future sounds terrifying, but heres one upside you didnt imagine: swilling Viking crunk juice to stay alive. Substance abuse for nerds. A few hundred years ago, people only lived to be 30 or 40 years old, Tobias Olofsson, a microbiologist at Lund University in Sweden told Gizmodo. If you had something to prevent infections, you could live much longer. Olofsson believes that something was honey wine. His groundbreaking research shows that bacteria found naturally in honey can hoka trekkingschuhe fight off some of the toughest drug-resistant infections. Now, through his university-backed startup ConCellae, hes leading an effort to develop a probiotic mead with the same medicinal properties. The earliest archaeological evidence for mead-making dates back to the 7th century BC in China. But some experts think people have been getting inebriated off honey for far longer. I personally believe humans have known how to ferment honeys since they left Africa, Ken Schramm, the mead-maker who wrote the definitive modern guide on honey wine, told Gizmodo. Schramm, along with many archaeologists, speculates that our hunter-gatherer ancestors discovered mead accidentally, when tasting naturally fermented honey in beehives, mizuno handballschuh or by adding honey to rotten fruit as a preservative. If there is one lesson of 2017, its that we are all going to die. MST3K has unveiled what will likely be the look for its new moon. Show creator Joel Hodgson revealed the logo on Kickstarter, as part of t hoka winterschuhe he series ongoing outreach to supporters who spe air force nt $5.7 million making the show a reality. The cult film commentary series was funded on Kickstarter last year and is currently in development. The new show will star Jonah Ray and Felicia Day, and feature the classic robots we know, although they will have different voice actors. There might also be appearances from the likes of Patton Oswalt, Neil Patrick Harris, and Mark Hamill. Some of the shows main appeal came from how DIY everything looked, and thats because they made most of it themselves. Most of the stuff created for the show was made with found objects, hot glue guns, a form machine, and Krylon paint. This hand-me-down style was reflected even in the logo.
