Viem Indiana man wanted for kidnapping and rape apprehended in Simpson County
Lafarge Canada Inc., with its Canada head office in Mississauga, was fined $400,000 following the death of one of its workers.On Aug. 23, 2017, one of Lafarges workers was leading contractors on a tour of a decommissioned cement plant in Zorra Township, Ont. The plant had ceased cement production and mining operations in 2008, and the tour was regarding the potential demolition of one of the decommissioned kiln buildings on site.The worker took contractors to the upper level of the kiln buildings, onto an exterior walkway. WASHINGTON 鈥?The lobby effort to spare Canada from inc stanley mug oming tariffs has been quietly unfolding for a year and has included Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, senior members of the Trump a stanley cup dminis stanley cup tration, the Pentagon and the business community 鈥?and this week it even touched the doorstep of outer space.By sheer coincidence, both the American cabinet member leading the tariff process and one of his Canadian counterparts happened to be at Florida Kennedy Space Center on Thursday when Donald Trump announced plans for whopping tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.It had been an emotional visit for Marc Garneau. The former astronaut and current federal cabinet minister was back for the first time in 15 years, seeing the old launchpad from which he three times blasted off into space. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW The visit was rattled by news that Trump intended to dust off a rarely used legal weapon that has stoked fears of a global trade war. Garneau asked to chat with the U.S. cabinet member attending the same satellite launch: Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.I essentially voiced the position of the government of Canada... that we did not see any reason to include Canada in this, Garneau said in an interview Friday.
