COLUMBIA, Md. 鈥?Construction on water mains in Columbia is going to cause some lane shifts along Shaker Drive over the next couple of months. The Howard County Government announced they are starting a construction project to loop two water mains along Shaker Drive. The project will provide a secondary loop to Christian Memorial Presbyterian Church and officials say it will increase the reliability of the area s water system. In order to do this, 1,210 linear feet of an eight-inch diameter PVC water main needs to be installed along northbound Shaker Drive from Justice Place to Allview Drive. In addition to this construction, officials say permanent restoration work, including road pavement, will be completed as well at the end of the project.
